It's a Boy!

We went to our ultrasound yesterday and we are SOOOO excited to report we are having a boy!!! It was a very fun ultrasound. He was moving a LOT and making it difficult for the tech to get good still images to do all the measuring she needed to do. Then of course when it came time to see boy or girl, he stopped moving and crossed his legs! It took a lot of poking and jabbing (only a little painful a couple times) to get him to move enough to get a good shot. We only got it for about 15 seconds but it was enough. The nurse said he looks really good. He is measuring a little big which means he is measuring bigger than they realize. When I went in for my first appointment I moved my last cycle date by about 4 - 5 days so my due date would be a little sooner since Hailey was 4 weeks early and still almost 8lbs. So he is technically measuring like a week bigger than he should be. Makes me a little nervous. I really dont want to deliver a 9+lb baby! We got some pictures and a CD for me to bring every time I have an ultrasound to record the pictures and even some videos on!

We were both secretly really hoping for a boy but neither of us would ever say it. I think it was just better that way. We would have been so happy either way. Jonny is thrilled! I am also mostly, but a little nervous at the same time. I know how to do girls, but Jonny says I said the same thing when I found out Hailey was a girl. Then I felt like I knew boys though. I had younger brothers and nephews and all my friends seemed to have boys. So I'm sure I'll get over it. Mostly we are just so excited!!!

Biological Warfare

It's a conspiracy I tell ya...

Someone is trying to kill me...

And I know it's not Cassie because my net worth is pretty darn low...

No seriously, I have been sick about 50% of the time since the beginning of September (I really wish I was making that up). What happened in the beginning of September you ask? Why that's a good questions. And it has a simple answer.

Daycare.

That's right, just daycare. Hailey has been enrolled in daycare for this school year while Cassie is teaching. This means that Hailey is now a very effective biological weapon. I swear that place is like some evil secret experimental laboratory run by the government in an effort to test new diseases on parents.

The kid comes home with some sort of sickness every week!

Cold.

Cough.

Flu.

Pink eye.

Strep throat.

Pneumonia

Thrush

Zombie infection developed by Umbrella Corporation.

It's always something. And I always get it. I am fully confident we could annihilate any foreign military by simply letting the daycares of the US have recess in their country for one day. Taliban would be wiped out.

It probably should have been a good indicator that something was wrong when the daycare teachers show up looking like this:

Note: Actual photo of daycare employees

Subnote: they don't speak english

So to all of you parents who don't have kids in daycare, enjoy your health. To the parents with kids in daycare, is there a support group or something?

You know what the crazy thing about all this is? Cassie hardly ever gets sick.

Hmm.....maybe she is behind it.

I should stop telling her pregnant women over exaggerate.

Blue's Clues

We are loving Blue's Clues!!! She knows the songs and when she sees hand prints or paw prints on anything she thinks it is a clue! So cute!

Fever, Cough, Congestion...

No pictures, just an update. We took Hailey to the dr at the beginning of the week because shes had this cough that was getting worse and worse, then she had a fever. I thought for sure she was going to end up with bronchitis or something. After we saw the dr, had a strep test, and a breathing treatment, we were sent to the hosptial to get some xrays. I think this child has been to the dr twice in her life. Once for a sinus infection and once for a virus that was untreatable. She NEVER really gets sick, except maybe a cold! Dang daycare! Turns out Hailey had walking pneumonia!!! What the heck? So she is on anti-biotics, even though its viral, and albuterol breathing treatments a couple times a day. She is already much better but boy was that a surprise and made for a pretty stressful couple days. We are going back to see the dr next week for a check up at which time I hope she is well enough so I can get her a flu shot. We are avoiding anything we can at that day care!

Birthday Party!!

We had a really fun birthday for Hailey! Here she is helping mom make the cupcakes the evening before the party. First we ate mac and cheese, Hailey's favorite, and then we decorated ice cream cones with markers, sequins, and buttons.Time for cake!!! I made ice cream cone cupcakes instead of having one cake. They turned out so cute! And they were a big hit with the kids!Time for presents! Is it just me or does she look so big in this picture? Thanks Chiara and Eppie! She got some fun gifts! Spoiled child! We got her a baby doll playset, stroller, carseat, highchair, etc. We are practicing.... We had so much fun! I cant believe she is 2!!!

Happy Birthday!

Part of the reason we like her daycare she is in. This has been up on their marquise for a week now!

More party pictures to come later.
